The curriculum includes in-depth analysis, listening sessions, and discussions on how Epirotic music has evolved and continues to influence contemporary Greek music. A highlight of the course will be guest lectures and performances by master artists of Greek traditional music, including legendary clarinetist Petroloukas Halkias and extraordinary violinist from Epirus Kostas Kostagiorgos.

About the Instructor
Vasilis Kostas is a Grammy-nominated laouto player, composer, and educator from Epirus, Greece, known for his innovative approach to Greek traditional music. He has performed at renowned venues like Carnegie Hall and the Montreal Jazz Festival and collaborated with legendary clarinetist Petroloukas Halkias on the acclaimed The Soul of Epirus albums. His work also includes participation in Grammy-nominated pianist Danilo Pérez’s project, The Global Messengers.
A Berklee College of Music graduate, Kostas studied under world-class musicians and holds a degree in Philosophy and Pedagogy from Aristotle University. His contributions have earned him awards such as the "Forty Under 40" from the Greek America Foundation. He has taught at the University of Macedonia and currently serves as Artistic Director of the New England Greek Orchestra and the Epilekto Epirus Ensemble.
